20 Buses in District 186 to be Equipped With Bus Safety Extension Arms

Bus Gates is proud to announce a public-private partnership with Springfield, IL public school district 186 and their transportation partner, First Student, to install our Bus Gate Safety Arms on x20 school buses. This upgrade will help make these school buses safer when picking up or dropping off students by better alerting motorists.

These arms are being installed thanks to a $10,000 donation from the Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) and their signatory contractors.

All of this is possible thanks to newly passed legislation, sponsored by Senator Doris Turner, that now allows school districts and buses across Illinois to be equipped with up to two additional safety arms.

We are excited about this opportunity to upgrade these buses and progress our mission to make every bus stop safer for our children.
